After all the wind and rain this weekend, we were happy to have a decent night for our second Monday intro ride of the season, with temperatures perhaps a bit on the chilly side, but not too bad. We had five riders, including newcomer Bowen, fresh off a big ride-every-road adventure in Shutesbury yesterday, and Shelby, fresh off her second triathlon of the season yesterday.
Our route took us on a loop around Northampton, a loop that I've done many times, but still struggled to correctly navigate. Fortunately, Jerome and Shelby have done it almost as many times as I have, and were ready to jump in to pick up the slack when I fumbled the route directions.
On our way back into town, we pulled off the bike path for a photo-op at the Florence history mural, where we had to rearrange a few recycling bins in order to get a clear shot.

We wrapped up around 6:50 PM with 16.1 miles at a fairly brisk pace of 13.3 mph. Jerome and Shelby both notched a bunch of PRs, so I think we were moving pretty well.
Next week we'll be doing our Hatfield loop from Sheldon Field at 5:30 pm -- come and join us!
