The Deerfield Time Trial (Strava segment) is a rolling 12.7 mile individual time trial along River Road in Deerfield. The course begins on River Road just north of the intersection with Route 116, at the first fire hydrant on the left. It runs north on River Road, with a flat section for the first couple of miles, then a couple of rolling hills, and another flat section of about 1.5 miles to the turnaround. The course turns around at mile 6.3 at the grassy triangle on the right at McClelland Farm Road, where River Road bends sharply left. It then proceeds back to the starting line. Riders are responsible for their own timing, so make sure that you have a cycle computer or watch. You must come to a complete stop at the start line. Drafting is not allowed. Riders will leave in 30 second intervals, starting loosely from slow to fast. The course gains 565 feet over 12.7 miles, for an average gradient of 0.8%.
