The Chesterfield Hillclimb is a 6.0 mile, moderate climb. The climb starts in Williamsburg at the intersection of Routes 9 and 143. It climbs steeply initially, and then includes some rolling descents from between miles 2.5 and 4.5, before climbing again to the finish in the center of Chesterfield at the intersection of North and South Streets. Riders are responsible for their own timing, so make sure that you have a cycle computer or watch. Drafting and other race tactics are allowed. The course gains 1,068 feet over 6.0 miles, for an average gradient of 3.3%.
