For the ninth week of the NCC Zwift Winter Hill Climb/Time Trial Series, we rode in Watopia.
This week, our challenge was the Richmond UCI Worlds course from 2015. This 10.1 mile course includes 198 feet of climbing, which is concentrated in the final three miles.
I knew it was going to be a wild hill climb when with three minutes before the group ride start time of 6 PM, Henry Weis said, “Is the Greatest London Flat the correct route?”
This week, our challenge was the Park Perimeter Loop. This 6.1 mile loop includes 413 feet of climbing. We had 20 participants for the second straight week!
Tonight was the largest NCC Zwift event to date. We had 20 participants, which bested our 17 participants from the New Year’s Day ride in 2021!
We had five riders put up negative splits, which was truly impressive.
For the third week of the NCC Zwift Winter Hill Climb/Time Trial Series, we rode in Austria. The challenge for the day was the Innsbruck KOM. The climb is 4.61 miles with an average gradient of 5% (1,311 feet of climbing).
