Fall is already showing signs, as when I left home it was 50F and I had to put the arm warmers on. But, the day turned out beautiful- sunshine and in the lower 70’s.

Route goals were as posted above — flat roads out and back to get us to some new (to me) climbs in northern Franklin County. We rolled out with a dozen or so riders under clear skies, but less than 45 minutes into the ride, the skies started getting darker to the west, and soon we were in sprinkles that became a steady rain as we rolled north through Whately and Deerfield.

The inaugural edition of Friday Night Lights is in the book, and it was a rousing success, to say the least. Beautiful weather and a smooth and fast loop out of town, down Bay Road, to Warren Wright Road, and home on the Rail Trail made for an enthusiastic crowd.

We had close to 30 people arrive at the Academy for 7:30- an amazing turnout for an early Saturday Morning ride. When I woke up at 5:30 I was a little worried, as a check of the radar showed a pretty significant line of showers to the west- exactly where we headed.

When I woke up this morning, I was a little hesitant, as it was 39F on my thermometer.. One of those days tough to dress for, knowing the temperature was expected to rise into the 70’s. Warmers and a vest seemed to be adequate.

I woke up to 25°F and frost everywhere, but, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping. With a balmy high of 45°F and mostly sunny skies forecasted, we were a go to ride our last SMR of the year in style.
