Here is a fun historical ride report of one of the most epic rides I have taken the club on. I am still undecided if I will do it this year (please comment below if interested!).

Indeed, always a fun event. I hope others pop in with a little bit of commentary.
Thankfully Saturday was an excellent day for this time of year. It was a chilly 40 F to start, with 11 of us at the park. We headed out the Thursday Night route to Williamsburg and kept a very nice conversational pace with everyone checking in with each other on their winter hibernation (or not!) plans.
I may have said it many times before, but it still is worth saying- it is truly amazing what places we can get to, the scenery, the quiet and calm- all within a 4 hour Saturday ride. We are so lucky to live where we do.
It was unseasonably chilly in the morning, with temperatures in the low 50s, as we rolled from the Academy with a dozen+ riders at 7:30 AM. We first climbed up into Chesterfield, where we lost Chris fairly early with a badly-cut tire.
We had around a dozen gather up this morning under sunny skies temps near 50- enough for arm warmers for many.
The first super-sized Saturday Morning Ride of the year kicked off on a perfect morning, slightly chilly at the start, but warming up quickly under abundant sunshine.
We started the day at the Academy under vaguely threatening skies with seven riders — myself, Don, Andrew, Mike, Philip, and new club members and first-time SMR riders Alan and Carl.
