With all the storms we’ve had lately and a warning from the National Weather Service about scattered storms, we set out on a figure 8 route that would allow a quick exit in case thunderstorms rolled in.

After a delayed start due to weather, the conditions could not have been nicer. Five of us – 3 members of the old guard, including yours truly, Rob S., and Don F., and 2 new riders, Julius and Felix – left the Academy at a few minutes after 10.
We had 7 riders push off under sunny skies this week.
Saturday’s route was a variation on a Tuesday nite classic that involves heading up to Deerfield via Whately and Haydenville, and then returning through South Deerfield and Hatfield back to Northampton.
After an afternoon monitoring the radar and calculating the odds of a storm free ride, we decided that today was going to be the first C+ ride departing from Easthampton.
Today was ideal weather for the inaugural Northampton Cycling Club Tuesday C Ride of the year.
Due to rain, the Northampton Cycling Club is cancelling the B and C rides scheduled for 9:00 AM, Saturday, May 29th.
