Another high-ish mileage ride drew about a dozen riders. The threat of rain and storms never panned out. It was a slog with the humidity and challenging climbs, but a great group for a fun day covering some areas we don’t get to very often.

This week we stretched out the mileage a bit to experience the Mohawk Trail, a beautiful climb to Savoy, and a relaxing and quiet descent into Cummington.

A perfect weather day called for some beautiful (but challenging) riding up to the Berkshire county town of Peru, which is the highest altitude municipality in Massachusetts at 2064′.

We climbed Apple Valley Rd and Briar Hill Rd. Ashfield sure does have some good hills! The views from the top were amazing. I don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing old New England farms with rolling hills and mountains as the backdrop.
