Ghost CX: Ghosts CX, presented by the. Northampton Cycling Club and the UMass Amherst Cycling Club, is a fun event right on UMass Amherst’s campus, a great event for everyone from beginner to pro.
Greylock Hillclimb Time Trial: This fantastic event takes place every fall, testing the legs of hill climbers up the highest peak in Massachusetts, Mount Greylock. This event is a nine-mile timed bicycle hill climb. Riders leave one at a time from the starting area at Western Gateway Heritage State Park and climb to the summit through the northern section of the Mount Greylock State Reservation.
Hatfield Lions Club Bike Tour: The Hatfield Lions Club runs an annual road bike event covering scenic roads throughout the Pioneer Valley. The proceeds for the Hatfield Lions Club Annual Bike Tour support eye research, the traditional cause for the Lions Club.The Northampton Cycling Club is supporting this ride financially, and it encourages its members to ride for this worthy cause.
Hydra Cross: An early season cyclocross race in Holyoke, MA. It features cyclocross clinics, kids races, and men’s and women’s races for all levels and abilities.
JAM Fund Grand Fundo: The gravel routes cover the beautiful scenery of Western Massachusetts. Along the way, you most likely will encounter ice cream trucks and former professional riders at the rest stops. At the end, we have a party to celebrate the cycling community, hold raffles, and award prizes and grants to up and coming JAM riders.
Massochistah: Each year, the Massochistah calls gravel riders to Western Massachusetts’ mud, dirt, and possibly even snow. The routes, affectionately know as the Dirty (30 miles), the Hurty (50 miles), and the Gurty (70 miles), climb 1,000 feet for every ten miles.
Northampton International Cyclocross (NohoCX): Founded in 1991, the Northampton International Cyclocross (NohoCX) race is the oldest UCI Cyclocross race in the United States. Each year, the event brings countless participants and spectators to the Pioneer Valley. The professional races feature the top riders in North America.
NCC Series
Junior Cyclocross Series: Each year, the NCC partners with the Northampton Parks & Recreation Department to run a training series for kids in grades 2 through 8. All riding levels and abilities are welcomed. Please have your child bring a working bike and a helmet, and we’ll do the rest.
Youth Cycling Series: This is a safe, fun racing series for kids is held on a grass course by the sprinkler play area at Look Park for children 3-12 years of age. This popular series has been held for well over a decade.
Time Trial/Hill Climb Series: During the outdoor season, the NCC hosts a weekly series that alternates each week between hillclimbs, which are mass-start events where drafting is allowed, and time trials, with individual starts at 30-second intervals and no drafting allowed. The races are informal events and attract all different ages and skill level riders.
Zoom Mass Twilight Crit Series: The Zoom Mass Twilight Crit series bring all levels of racing fun to the Valley. The B race is a perfect first race for riders interested in trying out the sport. This series is intended to be fun and welcoming. If you outgrow the B race, mix it up with the area’s best cyclists in the A race. Come join us and have a fun night out!
Zwift Hill Climb/Time Trial Series: During the winter season (October through March), the Northampton Cycling Club holds a weekly hill climb and time trial event. The goal of the HC/TT is for participants to test themselves against the clock.
Zwift Race Series: During the winter season (October through March), the Northampton Cycling Club holds a weekly race on Zwift.
