On this week’s B SMR It was hot. There were flats (tires that is). There were difficult climbs. It was a great ride with awesome people!

We sadly announce that the Tour of the Hilltowns is cancelled for 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
We gave you the six courses and you had two months to ride one or all of the routes.
Indeed, always a fun event. I hope others pop in with a little bit of commentary.
Thankfully Saturday was an excellent day for this time of year. It was a chilly 40 F to start, with 11 of us at the park. We headed out the Thursday Night route to Williamsburg and kept a very nice conversational pace with everyone checking in with each other on their winter hibernation (or not!) plans.
We had around a dozen gather up this morning under sunny skies temps near 50- enough for arm warmers for many.
Another awesome turnout at the start (for such a chilly day)- I counted 18 or so, and a couple of new faces. On Bay Rd a bit of the pent up winter/spring energy gapped the paceline a bit, but not for too long.
Unfortunately, our traditional NYD ride leader David Goodwin could not make it this year- but for a good reason- preparing for ‘cross nationals. So, but default I guess I was chosen to plan out a route and lead.
