After two years off for the pandemic, the JAM Fund’s major fundraising event, the Grand Fundo, is back for its eleventh year! It will take place on Saturday, July 23rd.

As Melissa and I were just gathering some serious speed on the descent after the hillclimb was over, right before we were about to hit the half mile of chip and seal road on the Westhampton side of the Westhampton/Chesterfield town line, she said that tonight’s hillclimb was beautiful.
As we cruised up Spring Street, we passed the first few arrivals for tonight’s hill climb at the corner of Chesterfield Road. They will never admit it, but I believe they were intimidated by the C ride peloton.
The rainstorms cleared just in time for a beautiful night of riding. Eight of us met at 5:30 PM to ride our Hadley route.
With the Northampton Cycling Club hosting the Tour of the Hilltowns on Saturday, our regular Saturday Morning B and C rides will not be held this week. Our normal Saturday group ride schedule will return on July 2nd.
The weather was a bit iffy this evening, but that did not discourage our 14 riders.
Some crazy close results tonight. Jake and Ryan separated by (to the best of my Strava and real time sleuthing) one second, as were Zinj and Darren (I hope I got his name right) and Madeline and Henry. We had a very mild wind out of the south at 6 pm so for the first time this year, I don’t think the wind played a huge role.
We had a sunny and scenic Monday Night Intro Ride on the Easthampton loop.
The annual Bikes Fight Cancer charity ride was held on Saturday at Tree House Brewery in Deerfield. The Northampton Cycling Club sponsored one of the rest stops for the event and had several riders participating.
