Week two of our Thursday night series took us to Scotland for a big Tour de Zwift race, three laps of the Rolling Highlands course with 190 starters. This one was tough from the get-go, with a big group of 40+ riders up front pushing hard at the start and never really slowing down much. Most of our NCC field was up in that front group at the beginning, with folks gradually dropping off as the group began to dwindle. By the time we got to the third lap, the group was down to about 20, with Dusty and I still waving the NCC flag. I was skating on thin ice near the back of the pack the whole lap, and the corkscrew climb in the little castle near the end did me in, as I watched Dusty and the rest of the group ride away to finish about 30 seconds in front of me. Not too sure about how the race played out further back, as there was not too much communication, and it was tough to hear anything on Discord over Henry’s heavy breathing.

Dusty led the NCC field on the road with a 13th-place finish, and Melissa takes the overall win thanks to her bonus points (she is somehow still categorized as a C, and yes, I will continue to whine about this every week until Zwift upgrades her :-).

Results from Week 2:
