really rad logoThe USCX Series wrapped up this weekend with the Really Rad Festival of Cyclocross in Falmouth, Massachusetts. NCC riders represented the team in many different categories, with most people racing on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was hot and dry, while Sunday was cold and muddy, leading to many DNFs (Did Not Finish) both for NCC riders and everyone else. Nonetheless, there were some impressive results!

Alta Breismeister placed 4th in the Girls 9-12 category on Saturday, and came back with a 3rd place finish on Sunday to earn a spot on the podium! Gunther Breismeister competed against the Boys 13-14, and he placed 11th in that category, competing on Saturday. Madison Johnson competed on Sunday only, finishing 5th in the Girls 13-14 race.

In the masters’ categories, Daryl Beck and Joe Lellman competed. Both improved from their Saturday to their Sunday finishes, with Daryl finishing 41st and 37th in the Men’s 50+ races and Joe finishing 21st and 18th in the Men’s 60+. Andy Scott joined them in the masters’ field on Sunday, finishing 42nd in the 50+.

Carlos Garza had a very strong finish in the 92-person Men’s Category 4/5 field on Saturday, earning a 19th place finish. On Sunday he finished 41st. For the JAM Fund/NCC, Jeremy Bloyd-Peshkin landed himself on the podium two days in a row competing in the Men’s Category 2 race: 3rd and then 2nd. Talia Loiter (JAM Fund/NCC) rode to 6th on Saturday and then improved to 4th on Sunday. Her performances this weekend—as well as throughout the season—earned her a 3rd place finish in the USCX for Women’s Category 3!

And last but not least, four JAM Fund/NCC riders competed in the elite races. On Saturday, Keith Mullaly, Patrick Frank, and Mark Hewitt finished in 19th, 22nd, and 29th, respectively, in the men’s race, with Olivia Sandoval finishing 22nd on the women’s side in her first race for the JAM Fund/NCC/UVM Cycling. On Sunday, Keith improved one place to finish 18th while Patrick had a huge race, capping off the weekend with a 13th place finish! After a season of racing elite USCX races, Patrick finished with his highest finish yet.
