Today is the first NCC cyclocross race of the year, our 4th annual NCC Hydra Cross.

Come on out on this gorgeous late summer day to enjoy racing from 9am until 4pm. The race takes place in Holyoke’s beautiful Pulaski Park, directly on the CT river.

You can find the race schedule and more information about our event here: bikereg.com/hydracross. Most of the youth races, with stacked NCC Trailblasters fields, are happening at mid-day, from noon-1:00pm.

Thirty-five NCC members will be racing today, ranging in age from 5 to 65.

Food will be served throughout the day by the American Legion and from 11-2pm the incomparable Vegan Pizza Land (out of Easthampton, MA) will be slinging their margherita and mexican street corn pizzas. Elite women’s race is at 2:00pm and the men’s race is at 3:00 pm.

At 4:00 pm as soon as the races end, help pitch in for 15 minutes as we do course tear down and stay for the volunteer after party (yes you’re a volunteer now!) for dinner from Pizza d’Action (a great Holyoke standby) and a free beer on us. Many hands make light work here and we would appreciate your help!

We hope to see you at the races today! There’s ample parking around the park (please don’t park at the American Legion), and we have a huge race parking lot at 41 Chestnut St, Holyoke, MA.

Many thanks to Leila, Jonathan, the board, and treasurer Sean Condon for all their hard work to help make Hydra Cross better than ever this year.
