There’s a lot going on right now in terms of NCC youth cycling, so I thought I’d send out a mid-month email blast to share two timely announcements. As always, the weekly ride schedule is available on the NCC Trail Blasters webpage.
This Friday, July 21st from 6:30 to 9 PM, the Trail Blasters Racing Team is hosting a fundraiser at the Barb and Olive at Northampton Bicycle. All proceeds will be used for team equipment and jerseys. You can buy tickets at the door. The grand prize raffle is a kid’s Cannondale bike! There are other prizes as well. It’s sure to be a lot of fun. Come hang out with a bunch of wonderful cycling people and support a great cause!
Speaking of great causes, the JAM Fund Grand Fundo is taking place this Sunday at the Cummington Fairgrounds. It’s the annual fundraiser ride for the JAM Grant program. You can meet this year’s grant recipients (which includes some Trail Blasters!) and help fund next year’s cohort. There are free kids gravel rides (6 and 12 miles) led by Coaches Tom and Craig. You and your kids can enjoy snow cones, face painting, and a dunk tank! There will also be onsite breakfast and a post-ride BBQ. You can even camp at the fairgrounds on Saturday night. This is always a great event. Come on out and join us!
We’ve had several new riders join us for the regular Trail Blasters rides this summer. If you’re curious, just show up and introduce your kid(s) to the coaches, and we’ll take care of the rest! It’s a great group and every ride is a fun adventure.
