Updated results with an email I found in my spam folder.

Perfect weather! Low 70’s, sunny, a mild wind from the south, dry roads. If only I hadn’t flatted at the start (more on this later if you’re interested). First, however, great effort from Ryan, fresh off Covid, Second, two first timers – Tim Silva and Gus Frey. Gus is 14, John Frey’s nephew, so great job Gus (John was pacing him), and third, 4 PRs – Henry 19s, Tim P 23s, Ben 8s and Andy 35s.

I had a perfect storm of mishaps – a flat tire after about 3 or 4 meters, the valve on my spare was too short for my deep dish wheels, my patch kit was bereft of patches so I ended up riding home (18 miles) on my bad tube that had a slow leak, stopping every 15 minutes or so to pump it up. I made it home – feeling like a complete dope for my lack of proper planning. Oh well, it was a delightful ride overall.

Next Tuesday is the Deerfield Time Trial, which starts and ends on River Road in Deerfield.
