It is already 8:00 pm on Sunday, so this is going to be the CliffsNotes version of the ride report…

So far we are two for two with outstanding weather for our Saturday rides. We had fourteen riders roll out of Pulaski Park on our way north. Our destination, Sweet Lucy’s Bakeshop in Bernardston. We stayed close to the river, which decreased the amount of climbing we would typically do.

We saw a giant milk bottle, a covered bridge, farms, more farms, and beautiful spring flowers. Lilacs seemed to be flower de jour and made our ride pleasantly fragrant.

It was my first time at Sweet Lucy’s. The bakery is just as good as everyone says it is. It was hard to choose a treat with the assortment they had!

After everyone was sufficiently sugared, we turned south for the return leg. We saw a castle house, rivers, farms and more farms. Please do not mistake repetition for ennui. Farms are one of the best things about the valley!

It was a great day. I got to spend time with friends, new and old, in a beautiful setting doing something I love.

In total, our ride was about 65 miles with 2,500 feet of climbing. Until next time.
