I’m happy to announce that I and other hillclimb race organizers in the region have been working to resurrect the Bike Up the Mountain Points Series (BUMPS) for 2023! I am an NCC member and one of NCC’s Mt Greylock Hillclimb race organizers.

BUMPS is a series of Hillclimb events in the Northeast that goes from mid-May to early October. This year we currently have 7 races on the schedule including our own Mt. Greylock event in September and a brand new late season race, the Prospect Mountain Uphill Bike Challenge which is a fundraiser for #Mission22 and reducing Veteran Suicide. We are HOPING to add an 8th event, the Wachusett Mountain race, in June or July if a group is able to organize it (may be in person or virtual).

Daniel Tavelli, Mt. Ascutney race organizer/director, built an amazing new website where you can see all the race season details and he and I are the new administrators of the series Facebook page and will be keeping that updated.

Hillclimb races offer a great personal challenge, are very safe, have amazing views and attract a supportive community of riders. I especially encourage other women to try out some of these races!

Please spread the word to all of your cycling friends who might be interested.
