So the downside of the 5 pm start time for the Tuesday night TT/HC series was in full cry this evening – rush hour traffic up the hill from Amherst and Leverett to Shutesbury and beyond was palpable. A parade of vehicles was on full view, a veritable stream of commuters (albeit nicely behaved) politely streamed past us as we battled the cool, dare I say cold, April chill to ascend into the late winter of upper Shutesbury.

We had ten 5 pm’ers (the top 10, as it turned out) and four pre-5 pm’ers. Can we conclude that it is faster in the group than solo? Only one PR tonight – Donna bested her time by 1:47. Nice!
