We went to the Makuri Islands this evening and rode the Suki’s Playground route.
We had five riders (Charlotte, Chris, Tim, Zinj, and me). Charlotte was prepared this evening and joined us on video for the Discord conversation.
Charlotte filled us in on her new road bike. She really likes it, but she seemed a little hesitant on the color.
Tim and I shared some recent cycling tech with Zinj. The new Wahoo Kickr Steer was discussed. Chris commented that it will be copied by this weekend. After the ride, I saw this post on the GCN app.I thought Zinj would not be impressed by the sleeveless indoor training vest, but he was surprisingly receptive to it.
Chris rode over 50 miles outside today, but that did not stop him from joining us in the virtual world this evening. He and Zinj got into a long physics debate on torque and power meters. Charlotte described this conversation as “seriously nerding out,” but I believe she was invested in the discussion.
Our conversation also included old tech. To my surprise, nobody owned a calculator watch at any point in their lives.
Charlotte and Chris earned the Suki’s Playground route achievement, which doubled their XP points for the route.
In total, we covered 20 miles with 837 miles of climbing.
