With temperatures in the mid 30s this morning, it was time to start Saturday morning Zwift rides.
We had four riders (Brant, Steve, Tim, and me) tackle the Triple Loops route in London. The route is flat for the first 10 miles, then it ascends Leith Hill before climbing Box Hill from the Richmond Park side.
My four year old joined me in the basement for the ride this morning. To my surprise, he was content running around and watching Miles From Tomorrowland on the iPad. My wife returned home midway up the Leith Hill climb and I briefly fell behind as we chatted and she encouraged our son to head upstairs. I chased back on and caught Brant at the base of Box Hill.
Today was Steve’s first NCC Zwift ride. It appears we are getting more and more participants from Central Mass!
Our Discord conversation was enjoyable as always. Brant filled us in our the class he is teaching at a local community college. I understood about half of the computer science vernacular, but Brant and Tim were on the same page.
Tim was having challenges with Discord. I’m sure he enjoyed all of us offering suggestions on how to fix his issues, even thought we were just guessing.
One of our riders shared that he recently rode with new bib shorts without realizing he had them inside out! This led to a conversation about our favorite cycling bibs.
Our ride took just under 2 hours and covered approximately 35 miles with 1860 feet of climbing.
