The second event in the River Valley CX Series, Northampton Cycling Club Hydra Cross p/b Open Square, is this Saturday, September 3rd. This is the third annual Hydra Cross and once again we will hold the race in Holyoke’s Pulaski Park.

In addition to the typical adult races, we also have races for younger riders (kids 3 to 9 years old, junior 9-12 boys and girls, junior 13-18 boys, and junior 13-18 girls).
We’ve got a number of NCC members volunteering, but could definitely use more. There are a couple of open slots for ‘parking greeters’ in the morning, a very important job! Course setup and tear-down are also areas where we can always use additional volunteers.
If you stay to tear down the course, dinner from Pizza d’Action (Holyoke’s best, with ample vegan and vegetarian pizzas) will be provided for you on-site while the last race is in progress so that you can stay and help with a full stomach. Volunteers who work registration or course repair jobs during race day will also be provided with lunch.
