The Northampton Cycling Club would like to highlight two upcoming events, the Mentoring Matters 5k and Stroke Across America Community Event.
On August 20th at 10 AM, the Mentoring Matters 5K run/walk will be held at Western New England University in Springfield. This event is hosted by the Follow My Steps, a nonprofit organization that aims to raise awareness for the need for mentorship in under-resourced communities. On Wednesday, August 24th, Stroke Across America Community Event will be held at the Northampton Center for the Arts (33 Hawley Street). At the event, which will be held from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, the group welcomes the Stroke Across America “Journey for Recovery” team, a group of cyclists who have been pedaling their way across America, spreading awareness about stroke, aphasia, and traumatic brain injury, and the long road to physical and emotional recovery and rediscovery of one’s identity.
