Calling all women and non-binary folx who have access to a gravel bike. I’m a new board member of NCC and a lover of gravel and mountain biking. I like to climb the local hills and sometimes take roads/trails that cars can’t go on. I am excited to share some fun routes that I have discovered in the area and learn of new routes from you all.

Please join me this Sunday, May 22nd for what hopefully is the start of an ongoing weekly gravel ride. We will meet at the parking lot of Safety Village at 8 am (behind the baseball field near 220 Bridge Rd, Florence, MA).

My tentative plan is a 21 mile route that has us climb 1,600 feet. We may adapt the ride depending participants desires.

I recommend tires of 38mm (or something similar). This is a C paced ride, but you should be able to climb elevation. Please know that this is a no drop ride. We will cheer all riders on, even up the climbs.

The intention of this ride is to get more women out on the dirt roads/trails. Since this is the first time there is a women (non-binary) ride, I want to see what interest is in the area. In the future we may have an every other week alternating a social ride and a harder ride.
