This evening we rode in New York City. Prior to the ride, Melissa asked if the route was hilly. My memory had only one minor hill on the Mighty Metropolitan route. She kindly reminded me that I was wrong as we ascended the steep climb.

We had five riders tonight (Henry, Melissa, Tim, Zinj, and me). We all agreed that it was a recovery week. After all, next week starts the outdoor time trial series.

The Happy Valley Rally is occurring right near Melissa’s house. Henry offered some race advice. Our Zwift racing skills may not help her in the real world.

Tim and I compared notes on the Tour of Watopia Stage 4. I rode it last night, while Tim rode the event early this morning. We both agreed that the jungle is slow no matter if it has dirt or gravel. Tim’s trainer provided a “lumpy” gravel road feel.

Henry and Zinj earned the Mighty Metropolitan route achievement, which doubled their XP points for the first lap. We ended the ride on a hill. Several of us turned around to descend instead of completing the climb. Tim made another Apple TV remote discovery. If you swipe counter clockwise on the remote, your avatar turns around. We may need to inform GPLama again.

In total, we rode 18 miles with with 1,429 feet of climbing.

On Saturday, the plan is to ride stage 5 of the Tour of Watopia (long version). Melissa and Tim do not fully understand the definition of a recovery week and are planning to ride the Mega Pretzel on Saturday morning instead. Both rides will be on Discord at the same time, so feel free to join either ride.
