The clocks have moved up, the weather is improving, and the pandemic numbers are in decline (at least for now), so that can mean only one thing: the return of the Northampton Cycling Club’s weekly outdoor group rides are coming in April!

In my humble opinion, club rides are the lifeblood of the NCC and I am looking forward to getting them rolling again this year. Please take a look at the NCC Calendar for start dates and times. Our Time Trial series starts March 29th, while our first official group ride is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19th.

In addition to our typical slate of road rides, this year we are adding gravel rides to our offerings. The first gravel ride is scheduled for Sunday, May 1st. Please keep an eye on our website and calendar for upcoming details. Also, don’t forget about the Massochistah on May 14th. We need volunteers for this epic gravel event!

We are fortunately to have a dedicated group of volunteer ride leaders guiding our weekly adventures. We currently need ride leaders for our C rides on Tuesday and Saturdays, as well as our Hilly A/B ride on Thursdays. If you have done these rides in the past and are planning on doing them regularly this season, please consider volunteering to lead one of these rides.  If you are hesitant to commit to it every week, it is certainly possible to share the responsibility between multiple leaders. Please e-mail me (mrioux@nohobikeclub.org) if you are interested in leading a ride.

If you are new to the club or just want to re-familiarize yourself with our different ride options, visit the NCC Weekly Rides page.

Happy pedaling and stay safe.
