We rode the multiple laps of the Farmland Loop on Makuri Island this evening. The scenery on this route is very picturesque.
We had five riders (Henry, Kathryn, Tim, Zinj, and me).
There was a Zwift update today and Tim spend a lot of time entering a very long password with his Apple TV remote. He somehow got it correct on the first try.
Zinj and Tim discussed home repairs. After Zinj’s encouragement last week, Kathryn informed the group that she took her bathroom fan apart.
Tim recommended that we watch a replay of the Strade Bianche Donne. From his description, the ending sounds very exciting. This got us on a discussion of cycling broadcasts. I mentioned that Peacock will have the Tour again. Peacock has both the Tour and Curious George, so my house is glued to the TV. My son watches the man in the yellow hat (Ted), while I watch the man in the yellow jersey.
We learned that Henry rode the first D2R2 back in the early 2000s. He rode the event on 23mm tires!
Next Wednesday’s ride will most likely be Stage 2 of the Tour de Watopia. This will not be a race, but an opportunity to earn extra XP points and a route badge.
Henry and Zinj earned the Farmland Loop route achievement, which doubled their XP points for the first lap.
In total we rode approximately 20 miles with 776 feet of climbing.
Tomorrow’s race is a 6 PM. We are doing the Tour of Watopia Stage 1: Longer Ride.
