We road the Flatland Loop in the Makuri Islands this evening.
Charlie, Melissa, Tim, and I covered about 2.5 laps of the 8 mile route. We rode at a conversational pace, which was nice after yesterday’s hill climb and tomorrow’s race.
Our Discord conversation covered a variety of topics. We started with current events. Eventually, Charlie filled us in on his latest projects at his new house. He is looking to build a fence. He also told an amusing tale of buying a new bed and mattress. Unfortunately, the queen size bed is too big for the full size mattress.
Before yesterday’s hill climb, Melissa informed us that it was getting harder and harder for her to set PRs. Then she broke her Box Hill PR by over 30 seconds. We questioned her about her pre and post climb statements.
The Flatland Loop caused Tim to have flashbacks to the Festive 500. He rode the route many times with the pace partners as he surpassed the 500 kilometer goal.
At the very end of the ride, we compared all-time Zwift stats. It is amazing how many hours we have all ridden on Zwift.
In total, we rode approximately 21 miles with 856 feet of climbing.
Charlie earned the Flatland Loop route achievement, which doubled his XP points for the first lap.
