With the weather getting cooler, today started our regular Saturday morning Zwift rides.
We had six riders (Brant, Melissa, Tiffany, Tim, Zinj, and me) for the Tire-Bouchon route in France.
Zinj was a few minutes late for the ride, which is normal. After dropping her daughter off, Melissa joined us about 25 minutes into the ride. Tiffany joined us, but was doing her Zwift workout.
Everyone was on Discord.
Tiffany educated the group on the difference between an Iron Man and a normal triathlon.
The group may or may not have assisted Tim with diagnosing his gearing issue.
After Melissa and Zinj missed last Thursday’s race, I encouraged them to rejoin the fun this week.
Brant’s goal for the winter is to earn his Concept Z1 (the Tron bike). Elevation is his goal for Zwift rides as he goes for the 50,000 meters.
Melissa and I compared notes on COVID and our town’s elementary schools. It has been a wild month so far! We also discussed high school sports, including lacrosse.
Brant and I discussed the giant anniversary cake that originally started in Westfield (350 years), lived in Hatfield (350 years) for over a year, and now resides in Whatley (250 years). I had no idea there were so many logistical issues associated with the cake. If anyone knows of the next town that needs a cake, please let Whatley know.
The complete ride took us approximately 2 hours and 7 minutes. We covered 38.5 miles with 1,661 feet of climbing.
