As our 2021 outdoor group riding season comes to an end, we hope you had a chance to enjoy some great group riding. Despite dealing with one of the rainiest summers ever and a Covid-shortened season, there were some really fun rides this year.

Our evening rides will end as usual with the party next Wednesday. Given the fact that the CDC now considers Hampshire County as high-risk for community spread we will not be adding more weekend rides to the calendar. The NCC believes that it is in the best interest of the club and especially the community that we do so.

Going forward, we encourage you to continue to ride and offer two club resources to help. Ride leaders have contributed throughout the summer to the Route Library, which now contains over 100 individual Curated Rides — starting in 7 different locations. Use these routes as-is or as an inspiration to build your own.

See this link to the routes and tips on how best to use the library. RideWithGPS.com is an excellent resource and most functions are free. Their help files are excellent and are all you need to download our routes to your phone or GPS.

We also encourage you to use the Club Discussion Forum to self-organize smaller group rides.

Starting in October, the NCC’s indoor Zwift competitions and group rides will start up for the winter season. More details about Zwift rides will be published in mid-September.

Stay safe, ride well and we look forward hopefully to a full outdoor 2022 season!
