For the second week of the NCC Zwift Winter Hill Climb/Time Trial Series, we rode a time trial in Yorkshire.

The challenge for the day was the 2019 UCI Worlds Harrogate Circuit. The course is 8.58 miles with an average gradient of 0%. That said, there is still 787 feet of climbing throughout the course.

To give a brief summary of the series rules, participants must use a time trial bike, which prevents drafting. Points are awarded based on the number of competitors and individuals’ overall placing. For example, if there are 19 riders, the person with the best time is awarded 19 points, second gets 18 points all the way down to the last rider, who gets 1 point. At the end of the Zwift series, the rider with the most points will be awarded the NCC Zwift Series title.

Participants may ride any time during the day or participate in the group ride version at 5:30 PM. In the group ride version, we typically warm up together before individually completing the time trial.

Of the thirteen riders today, we had nine participants in the group ride.

There were many PRs today: Andrew, Ashley, Charlie, Dusty, Jeremy, Melissa, Sean, and me.

Just like last week, times up and down the leaderboard were incredibly close.

Here are today’s results:

1. Weinman, Kevin; Time: 0:20:31; 25.1 mph; 13 points
2. King, Dusty; Time: 0:21:25*; 24.1 mph; 12 points
