In a “normal” year keeping all the good stuff on the Club Calendar takes a good amount of behind the scenes work. The NCC Board of Directors works hard to coordinate the Club activities from the five weekly rides, to the Youth Cyclocross series to the Montague Crits, to BikeFest, and more. There’s the business stuff, too – sponsor outreach, kit design, website management, paying the bills, and writing emails to you, our outstanding members. Then there’s community involvement – the Club donates money and time to a handful of organizations where we live – being a Board member is farther reaching that just the NCC (and even JAM). You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to cycling and fitness programs for people across ages, races, and socioeconomic status.
At the end of 2020 there will be several vacancies on the Board as terms wrap up and life pulls people in different directions. The highest priority openings are the President and Clerk seats, but even your beloved Email Writer is stepping aside.
If you have found yourself enjoying the rides and the community the NCC has to offer (when we can be a community), please consider this opportunity to shape the future of the Club. If there’s something you think could be done better, join the Board and make it happen! For more info, please fill out this brief application, it takes just a few minutes.
