We’re not medical professionals and we didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but we’d like to share some reasons why most of our board will only ride alone during the pandemic.

CDC states that the virus can be spread by people without symptoms and respiratory droplets are a primary method of spreading. We believe that the 6′ social distancing is totally inadequate when cycling. When riding behind someone, you ride right into their respiratory droplets.

We find this article to be one of the best descriptions of the risks of cycling with someone.

Still, we believe that cycling is terrific for our mental health as well as our immune system. We recommend that you still ride, but do it safely!
