We had a great ride today! Eleven of us (Joe, Clayton, Rich, Chris, Tony, Frank, Roberto, Mike F (from Worcester!), Kevin (on a Cx Bike!), Ron and myself) braved the cold and wind for ride up to Greenfield. Due to the North/ North-West blow we headed out of town on 9, onto Nonotuck to Florencce, Leeds, then right to Haydenville, across 9 onto Mt. Rd. (where said goodbye to Tony) and then onto Whately with an easy KOM by Clayton on The Haydenville Rd. climb. After a quick fueling at the PO, we continued on North St. to Sawmill and then onto Stillwater where we pushed hard by Ron, to Upper Rd., the another fueling before a fat descent on Lower Rd., backtracking to 116 and cutting across South Deerfield and then with the winds at our back headed down River Rd. where Roberto, Joe L, Clayton (despite a mechanical) and Mike F pushed hard — the big boy push is what I think they called it. We then headed back to town with about 45miles, 1300 feet of climbing at about 18mph. It was a blast and possibly the most snow on the ground for a SMR that I’ve seen in a while.
