Four bold souls showed up today: Chris (with his new Felt ride), Mike, Roberto (sans Pinarello), and myself.

The weather did not even come close to the forecast. We had 37 degrees F at the start with dense fog and light drizzle.

Our route was the traditional Wednesday Night Ride. The only thing that changed the entire ride was the temperature. It fell to a very raw 32 degrees F and stayed there until we reached Rocky Hill Rd on the way back, where it warmed to a toasty 34! The fog and drizzle never let up.

One quick pit stop at the BookMill helped us warm up and recharge.

We were a pretty quiet bunch I thought- either because our mouths were freezing or we were concentrating on keeping a warming pace. Chris hit the gas a few times, including getting out of our sight on the Taylor Hill Rd climb, to test out his new ride he claims. 😀

Not too much more to say- it was a miserable day (you know, one off those where you get soaked through, cold toes and fingers, and full of road sand and salt), but a good ride. Thanks for braving the elements and coming out guys. Hopefully back to the scheduled program next week.

Yes, it was miserable. Kudos to Tim for even going after doing the Hot Chocolate Run. But it was the weekend, there was no ride on Saturday, and I had a new frame and wheels to test out. I had to hose it all down when I got home. All is well. What a dedicated group of nutcakes we are.

I too had a great ride and enjoyed the camaraderie. However I didn’t find the conditions that miserable, aside from keeping the road spray and dirt out of my mouth! Beats training indoors any day!
