Great ride and turnout today – At the start we had Ron, Clayton, Tim (Welcome!), Paul, Kevin (on his brand new BMC Team Machine?), Rich Webber, Rich Wu, Chris, Patrick, T, Frank, Mike Y. and probably a few others that I forgot. We had planned to do the Cosby loop but ended up heading north from Conway on 116 into Ashfield instead. I think we lost Ron pretty early on for an unknown reason and Paul graciously had gone back to look for him and then never caught back up to the group. From Ashfield we dropped down a screaming descent on 112 through Buckland and into Shelburne Falls at a pretty good clip with a bit of a taliwind. We stopped briefly at McCusker’s Market to refuel on a scorching day and then headed back towards Conway the way we had come due to time constraints for a number of folks. Rich Webber set a pretty blistering pace on the return leg back to Hamp. We saw Mike Hempstead riding with son Philip as we headed back down North Farms. I ended with about 54 miles round trip back to FloHo but others may have a more detailed accounting. Great ride!

My first time on the SMR- new to to the club this year, finally able to join you all on a Saturday. I was pretty quiet, so next time I’ll have to chat a bit more with you all. Agree with Mike on all points. Good route, I was one of the hill climbers up front- love them hills. Awesome descent on 112 as Mike said, really kept me cool. Also, I enjoyed the brisk pace on Mountain St on the return.

I had a total of 65 back at home in Easthampton (did not include the ride to the Academy at the start), but does include a bit extra downtown.
