Description of Leverett/Shutesbury Hillclimb: This is a mass start hillclimb up Leverett Road (turns into Shutesbury Road). Riders will be responsible for their own timing so make sure that you have a cycle computer or watch. All races leave the starting line at 6 pm. This is a 4.3 mile, moderate hillclimb starting in Leverett at the intersection of Cushman Road and Still Corner Road and ends in the center of Shutesbury at the crosswalk in front of the town hall. Drafting is allowed. Points will be awarded for a season long hillclimb and overall time trial/hillclimb series winner based on the number of competitors and your overall placing (for example, if there are 19 riders and you have the best time, you will be awarded 19 points, second will get 18 points all the way down to the last rider who will get 1 point).

First off, thanks to everyone whose wheel I followed/sucked - in sequence - Mike Griffin, Joe Jewett, Joe Lellman, Dan Hocking and finally, Tim Cary. A special shout out to Jonathan O'Keeffe and Tim Cary (and others?) who did the 140 mile beer ride (I'm sure there's a name for it). If I had done that this weekend, I would still be lying down.

I saw Jack Morse coming up while I was going down so I did a complete guess of his time here - Jack: post your time and we will recalculate the results.

Here is the way it went down:

Speaking of drafting, I got a nice ride up Shutesbury Rd. behind Joe Jewett, who finished a few seconds ahead of me even though we recorded the same time. Jonathan, it looks like you have our positions reversed in the results tally.
