Description of Short TT: This is an individual time trial down River Road in Whately and Hatfield. Riders will be responsible for their own timing so make sure that you have a cycle computer or watch. All races leave the starting line at 6 pm. This is a flat 9.2 mile route that begins at the intersection of Sugarloaf Street Extension and River Road just across the Deerfield line in Whately and ends on Elm Street in Hatfield at the green I-91 sign on the overpass. There is no drafting and riders will leave in 30 second intervals, starting loosely from slow to fast. Points will be awarded for a season long TT and overall TT/Hillclimb series winner based on the number of competitors and your overall placing (for example, if there are 19 riders and you have the best time, you will be awarded 19 points, second will get 18 points all the way down to the last rider who will get 1 point).

Maybe winter will be over tomorrow but for tonight, it was still in full force - 40 degrees at the start with overcast skies. The only saving grace was dry roads and a mild breeze out of the north which resulted in some pretty sweet times. Some folks tangled with a dog, some folks tangled with their inner demons, and some tangled with both. Here are the results:

Place,Name,Time,Speed,Points
1 Jay Gump,19:03,28.98,21
2 Scott Green,20:43,26.65,20

4 Keith Burgoyne,21:11,26.06,18
5 Jonathan O'Keeffe,21:16,25.96,17
6 John Wanner,21:32,25.63,16

Good job out there last night folks - esp. given the crappy weather again. I guess 40 degrees and wind will make those warmer weather TT's all that much enjoyable. Shout out to John for a great lead off ride - looks like you are getting faster each week. Are we going to be battling for the Latern Rouge all season? Stay tuned for next week's episode. Wink

Thanks, Rodney, for the kind words. It was a fun TT on a chilly night. I was secretly hoping for cold, pelting rain to see how many enthusiasts would turn out. The TTs are something I eagerly look forward to every week - super fun and everyone is really nice and supportive.

It was nice chatting with you at the finish line - good luck and have a ton of fun at the Quabbin on Saturday! I look forward to seeing you on Tuesdays, where "our" jersey will be up for grabs!!

Flat terrain precipitates a bit of a shuffle in the sort order. Notably ... NoHo Bike's Scott Yaroush with a big night.

Wow, PRs galore with that tailwind last night. Updated series results below (or here if they're not showing up in your browser).

Wow, big fun!!! The adrenaline high I got from the time trial kept me awake for hours last night. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Thanks to everyone for participating, to Dave for organizing, and Jonathan for the updating.
